My name is Shelby Ross, and I am the face behind Chapter Two: Alterations & Creations. My journey as a tailor, seamstress, & designer started when I was about 10 years old, as a young girl with the desire to find a fast and economical way to make sure Cassie (my American Girl doll), donned all my fashion visions & ideas. With the help and support from my grandma, I started learning the ins and outs of sewing, fabrics, notions etc. as tools to express my creativity and bring my ideas to life. My love for sewing & design followed me into college, where I earned my degree in Apparel Design and Development from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, leading me to a corporate career working with fit, design, and the analytics side of product. My time in corporate has led me back to my roots of being behind the machine, channeling my passion for sewing, fashion, creativity and helping others. I am so excited to meet you, and learn how I can help you with your needle & thread needs.

Chapter Two is about the next step, second chances, and re-envisioning something old into something new, making the good better. Through my work as a tailor and a creative, my mission is to support my customers in their next steps, whether it's alterations in preparing for a friend's wedding, re-purposing a sentimental item, or inspiring my customers through my creations or workshops. My goal is to empower the people I work with, whether it's a quick alteration or a meaningful creation. ​​
